Company History

Scripps has been changing lives since 1924, when philanthropist Ellen Browning Scripps founded Scripps Memorial Hospital and Scripps Metabolic Clinic in La Jolla, California.

Today, Scripps Health is a $2.6 billion nonprofit integrated health system. We treat a half-million patients annually among our five acute-care hospital campuses, home health and hospice care services, and an ambulatory care network including 26 outpatient centers and clinics and hundreds of physician offices.
